Snowpark Kaunertal: The Legendary Spring Classics are Back!
The temperatures are rising, the snow is getting slushy, the season is coming to an end - these are THE key words to experience epic days and epic weeks in the snow at the Snowpark Kaunertal! As is well known, the focus of the Snowpark Kaunertal is now on the unique spring weeks and this year the program is making the most of it. Enjoy your time and take part in the numerous events.
When some people are already stowing their skis and snowboards in the basement, the most legendary time of winter for snow park enthusiasts is just beginning. The Snowpark Kaunertal opens its doors once again for the Spring Classics and offers 4 weeks full of action and event highlights. In addition to the already well-known classics, such as the GAPTASTIC VOYAGE, GAUNERSHRED or the UK SPRING BREAK, several new highlights will be added this spring. There will be numerous opportunities to experience the wide range of sessions, competitions and events between your own park runs with the shred buddies and to enjoy the last days of snow to the fullest.
New additions to the Spring Classics event calendar
Right at the beginning of the event series, a real highlight rises on the Weißseespitze. Under the motto “park is everywhere”, an OPEN FACES Freeride Contest is taking place for the first time this year, combining the elements of freeriding in the backcountry with those of freestyling. The competition is also the last stop in this year's Open Faces Freeride series and promises numerous motivated riders who will venture over the cliffs one last time with impressive tricks.
From April 23rd to 26th it will be extremely spectacular again when the FIS SKI SLOPESTYLE competition takes place in the Snowpark Kaunertal. Together with Ski Austria, the Snowpark Kaunertal welcomes Europe's best freeskiers to this contest. So if you want to get inspired for a new trick, you should definitely come by!
Classics to the Spring Classics
Every year, the Shredlife Association's contest and the Oberland Tourstop attract numerous enthusiastic participants of every age category. For the third time, the “snake run” of the Banked Slalom presented by Slash Snowboards will meander along the Nörderjoch T-bar and will focus on shredding together from young to old. The craziest jumps to watch are probably from the 17th to the 20th April at the Gaptastic Voyage 3.0 when international riders jump over the now legendary Roadgap setup. With the UK Spring Break, the Kaunertal once again welcomes “the Brits” and for the closing of the Spring Classics, the photo cameras are pulled out: At the public photo shoot by Henrieke Ibing, everyone has the chance to take a professional shred photo. At the MBM Brand Shooting Days, the coolest brands in the scene, together with the team riders, fill their repertoire with shots of the latest equipment.
T-shirt and hike sessions in the park
Sunshine and slush will make every snowboarder and skier's heart beat faster, because these are definitely ideal conditions for park days. For some it's probably the best time to try out new tricks and expand your trick repertoire. Here the “nature run” offers numerous opportunities from top to bottom to prove yourself on the rails, tubes and boxes. Kickers of different sizes will also be found in the line. Lots of variety, lots of options, guaranteed lots of fun!
Spring Classics x Freizeitticket – Bonus Partner Special
This year there is also a cooperation between the Kaunertal Glacier and the Freizeitticket. Ticket holders only pay 25 euros for day tickets as adults. Youth/seniors 22 euros, children 15 euros. Children born 2016 and younger ride free.

SHREDLIFE GAUNERSHRED & OBERLAND TOURSTOP
We are opening the Spring Classics with an event that has been very close to our hearts for a long time. Crooks Shred from “Shredlife” – THE contest for everyone. This year, the “shredlife” association is once again inviting you to the freestyle contest “Gaunershred” in the Snowpark Kaunertal in the form of a jam session with participants in various categories. The focus is on having fun and exchanging ideas with other riders. Since all categories run at the same time, it is a collaboration and enables mutual inspiration.
On the same day, the freestyle locals compete against each other as part of the Oberland Tour (district freestyle championship) and have a chance of getting a place in the local team.
The girls and boys can put their skills to the test in various categories in the multi- faceted Snowpark Kaunertal.

OPEN FACES FREERIDE 1* FWTQ / 2* FWTJ
An OPEN FACES Freeride Series Contest is taking place for the first time and thus combines the elements of the Kaunertal Glacier. Freeriding in the backcountry paired with freestyle elements – this is what the glacier is well known for. The Open Faces 1* FWT Qualifier Contest is the ideal stage to get a taste of contests. In addition to the 1* competition for adults, a 2* junior contest will also be held.

GAPTASTIC VOYAGE 3.0
The internationally famous Kaunertal Roadgap will also be presented in a very special way this year. At the Downdays Gaptastic Voyage Invitational Days 3.0 between April 17th and 20th, top international riders will once again make the special roadgap setup unsafe. Anyone interested can stop by at any time and watch the top stars. Information about the exact times of the event will follow on the social media channels and on the homepage.

BANKED SLALOM presented by SLASH SNOWBOARDS
The Banked Slalom Kaunertal will also take place this year as an annual fixture and has a new main sponsor, Slash Snowboards. Even if time is taken here, the focus is on having fun together in the banks. Participants have the opportunity to claim victory in both the individual categories and the family category.

UK SPRING BREAK
After a break of several years, the legendary UK SPRING BREAK series landed back in Kaunertal last year. We are looking forward to welcoming “the Brits” back again this season. UK SPRING BREAK is not only a “get together” for British retailers, but also a meeting point for international snowboarders and brands who extensively test the latest material in the Kaunertal Snow Park and on the slopes.

The idea of the MBM Brand Shooting is that photographers shoot their archives before the start of the season with a good portion of good shots with the latest equipment and the team riders. So be there when the coolest brands and their local team riders hit the park. This is definitely the end of the season together with your Shred Buddies on the Kaunertal Glacier before we go on the summer break!
