FW welcomes Alek Oestreng to the Team

We are excited to announce that Alek Oestreng is joining the FW team. Growing up outside of Oslo, Norway, Alek's early career focused on the freestyle side of snowboarding, before shifting focus to exploring the whole mountain and finding natural jumps and transitions.
_origins
Alek grew up in a place called Rykkinn just outside of Oslo. At the age of 9 he started snowboarding and together with a few friends he began spending all his spare time at the local hill. They got introduced to the scene and snowboarding gave him a direction and an identity. Aside from seeing other snowboarders, he found most of the inspiration in magazines and videos.
_perspective
Snowboarding has been at the center of Alek’s life for the past 20 years, and over time his perspectives have shifted. He started travelling at a young age and chased this idea of what he thought snowboarding should be. He didn’t find much happiness this way and ultimately his own experiences taught him to slow down.

Today Alek has learned to slow down, be patient and appreciate his local surroundings and conditions. He enjoys working on video and photo projects which capture the essence of snowboarding and inspire others to get out and ride.
“In the very beginning I was attracted to FW from seeing the product. Simple yet technical pieces, built to last for the lifestyle I live. I quickly learned that I have a lot of natural parallels to FW. We share values and passions and I feel appreciated for what I can, and try to, offer. It makes me proud to ride for FW and I am excited to work with so many likeminded people.”
