Burton Announces 2022 Global Schedule of New Burton Mystery Series

This First-Ever Global Series of Snowboard Events will Uncover Unknown Riders and Build the Snowboard Community through Creativity, Self-Expression, and Good Times for All.

Burton is excited to announce the 2022 Spring schedule for its first-ever Mystery Series, a bold new global open-format event that’s unlike anything else in snowboarding, and the antidote to elite competitions. This inaugural series will feature nine events across the globe, bringing together riders of all ages and abilities under a shared love of snowboarding to showcase creativity, self-expression, and good times - all under a cloak of mystery.

The Spring 2022 Burton Mystery Series schedule will kick off in March and wrap up in early May, with unique, inclusive, and engaging events taking place globally in Austria, China, France, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and the United States. Each competition will unveil different mysterious elements designed to surprise riders and ignite creativity. These events aren’t about winning, losing, or shiny medals. They have been developed so snowboarders have as much fun as possible, riding alongside friends and a few of the industry’s favorite pros, while progressing the sport in fun and unexpected ways. An open mind is all you need!

Burton Mystery Series Schedule – Spring 2022:

  • Mar 5-6: Avoriaz, France

  • Mar 5: Lake Songhua, China

  • Mar 12: Kläppen, Sweden

  • Mar 19: Woodward Park City, UT, USA

  • Mar 19: Theodore Wirth Park, Golden Valley, MN, USA

  • Mar 19-20: Hakuba Valley, Hakuba Happo, Japan

  • Apr 9-10: Flachauwinkl, Austria

  • Apr 29-May 1: Solheisen, Norway

This first round of community-driven events will build upon the Burton Mystery Series global platform as it progresses towards elite level competition. Following this phase, Burton will then host a round of creative and inviting regional festivals that will highlight, celebrate – and uncover – some of the world’s best riders.
